Board and Train in Massachusetts
Individualized training. Real-world results. Skills that go beyond the backyard.
What does your life with your dog look like?
Imagine taking your dog to a brewery patio without constantly managing their behavior. Enjoying a walk without being dragged down the street. Having a reliable recall when exploring the outdoors. Or simply having a dog who understands how to settle, listen, and coexist in your home.
That's what we're working toward.
Our board and train programs focus on practical skills that transfer into everyday life. Your dog's training isn't confined to a training room or a checklist of commands. We develop obedience, communication, impulse control, and reliability in the environments where those skills actually matter.

Board and Train Frequently Asked Questions
Your dog stays right here in my home! This isn't a kennel facility or a commercial boarding environment. Dogs in our board and train programs live alongside us, are treated like members of the family, and experience life as a normal household dog.
Training happens throughout the day, not just during designated lessons. We use everyday opportunities to reinforce good habits, practice communication, and build reliable behaviors in real-life situations. Just as importantly, dogs get downtime, opportunities to decompress, and days off from structured training. Rest is an important part of learning, too!
Where does my dog stay and what does their day entail?
1
Absolutely! That's what our go-home transition process is designed to accomplish. I'll teach your dog the skills, but I'll also teach you how to communicate with them, maintain their training, and incorporate those expectations into everyday life.
You don't need to become a professional dog trainer, but you do need to participate in the transition process and follow through with the guidance provided. Training is a foundation we build together, and your consistency is what keeps it going.
Will my dog actually listen if I don’t train them myself?
2
Most obedience board and train programs take approximately 3–5 weeks. Every dog is an individual, and the timeline depends on several factors, including their training history, ability to settle into a new environment, learning pace, and the time needed to develop reliability around distractions.
Some dogs need a little extra time to decompress and adjust before they're ready to learn. Others pick things up quickly but need additional practice to make those skills dependable. We prioritize meaningful progress over rushing through a predetermined curriculum.
How long does training take?

Can I visit my dog during training?
4
Of course! You're welcome to arrange a visit during your dog's stay. We simply ask that you contact us ahead of time to schedule it.
Because Brighter Days operates out of our private residence, visits must be arranged in advance. This also allows us to choose a time that works with your dog's training schedule and doesn't unnecessarily interrupt their routine.
