A young dog in a shelter kennel:
Heavily medicated
Constantly barking
Escaping crates and doors
Biting the leash and grabbing hands
Highly reactive to other dogs
This wasn’t just difficult—it was unsafe. If nothing changed, her future was uncertain.
What We Changed
We taught her to:
Regulate her arousal
Settle in confinement
Interact appropriately with other dogs
Play without taking it too far
And yes—
We were able to fully remove the behavioral medication.
The Result
She became:
Calm
Social
Reliable in public
A brewery dog. A companion. A best friend.
She didn’t need to be managed and medicated. She needed to be understood.
