FAQs

What is day training?

1

Day training combines the best parts of private lessons and board and train. Instead of you doing all of the practice between sessions, we work directly with your dog during the day, building skills and solving problems while you're at work or busy with life. At the end of each session, we transfer those skills to you so you know exactly how to maintain the progress.

Is day training right for my dog?

2

Day training is perfect for owners who want professional help but don't want their dog to leave home for several weeks. It's an excellent option for busy families, young dogs that need a strong foundation, and dogs that benefit from repeated practice in real-world environments. Severe aggression or complex behavior cases may be better suited for a full board and train program.

Will my dog still listen to me if you're doing the training?

3

Yes. Dogs do not automatically generalize their training from one handler to another, but they do learn patterns, expectations, and routines. The goal of day training is to build those habits while giving you the tools to maintain them at home.

While day training is not the same as a private lesson and does not always include formal coaching sessions, we will provide clear guidance on how to replicate the training and maintain consistency. If you can provide the same expectations, structure, and follow-through that your dog has learned during training, they are far more likely to succeed in your home and everyday life.

Where does the training happen?

4

Real life happens outside the training building, so that's where we train. Depending on your dog's goals, sessions may take place in your neighborhood, local parks, pet-friendly stores, downtown areas, or anywhere else your dog needs to learn to succeed. We believe dogs should practice the skills they'll actually use, not just perform them in a controlled environment.
